NYT’s Editor Bill Keller Takes a Shot at the Post
The New York Times Executive Editor Bill Keller took a shot at the Washington Post when commenting on the retirement of the Time’s standards editor Craig Whitney.
“On a number of occasions he has saved us from ourselves,” Keller said of Whitney, who just retired from the Times. “I don’t think there was ever any prospect that Arthur [Sulzberger] would propose to invite opinion-makers to his house for paid salons with our reporters — but if someone at The Times had given birth to such a scheme, I have no doubt Craig would have been the first to smother it in its crib.”
