Buyout For Guild-Covered Employees

Negotiations begin April 13 between the Guild and the Post to determine the terms of the buyout and who will be eligible.

Because of our contract, the Post is required to negotiate with the Guild. Exempt employees, many of whom are our friends and colleagues, can be let go at any time. Some employees in commercial will see their jobs eliminated and are not likely to qualify for the buyout because they are not yet 50.

For those employees (Consumer to Consumer and Jobs Business Development call centers, and Account Managers in Jobs Major Accounts Unit), we will negotiate a separation package, another protection under our contract.
Our goal in both cases is to make the transition for these employees as easy as possible in these tough economic times. Bargaining must be completed within 10 working days.
